How can I prevent the timing chain from failing? Do any symptoms appear in advance? Is it possible to check it? I should add that I bought a BMW and have already replaced the timing gear along with the oil pump.

For some time now, when I switch the automatic transmission to D (drive mode) and hold on the brake for a while, the car shakes. I can feel a slight vibration from the drivetrain, which is normal, but in addition to that, I can feel a slight kick that feels on the seats. When I set the Sport or Manual mode – the car runs evenly. The vibrations are sometimes stronger and sometimes very faintly felt. For some time now, I have been hearing soft knocks at slow speeds and feeling a slight vibration. After slightly adding gas, the problem stops. I should add that the engine dies and fires evenly, so the pulley should be fine. Could a worn tensioner pulley be the cause of the malfunction?

I am after an engine swap from a BMW E36 to a BMW E46. There is a small problem with the electrical system and I don’t really know how to connect the cables to make it all work. The swap was supposedly done by mechanics and they made a horrible mess in the engine connection box to the car.

I have a small problem with adaptive lights. The car was gently damaged, the lamp was replaced and all the modules were rearranged. Everything seemingly works, only the message “cornering illumination failure” pops up and the halogen does not work. When connected to the computer, several errors pop up. My question is whether it is necessary to code the controllers in some way, or is it rather a result of the impact and the module to be replaced?

Is it normal that smoke is coming out of the air purge line in large quantities? My car has almost 300,000 km on the odometer, it doesn’t take oil, the turbo seems to be passing a little. I use Castrol 5W30 oil. Below is a video of the symptoms that concern me.

I own a BMW with an automatic transmission. When I start the car in the morning, I feel jerks when shifting gears (there is cold oil in the transmission). Should I be concerned? The second problem is the vibration of the brake pedal during a long drive (about 1000 km) and at speeds of about 80-100 km/h. Is this phenomenon normal or not?
