BMW driver question
I have a question. Where are the very large amounts of water in the exhaust system coming from? In my car, it leaks from the muffler after every firing. What is the reason for such a defect?

I own a BMW with an N47 engine. I heard the timing rattle for 3 seconds after starting. After replacing the complete timing gear (no tragedy) it suddenly started “ringing”. The sound can be heard non-stop, but only after driving a long distance, that is, warming up the engine. As far as I know, it is impossible for the timing chain to stretch and shrink. Please advise.

I would like to ask about the durability of the valve train on the BMW 5 F10. Is it necessary to replace in this engine as in the N47 engine of the BMW 5 Series E60? If so, after what mileage and what is the approximate cost of such a repair?
Thank you very much in advance for your answer.
BMW driver question
In June 2016 I bought a BMW F30 320i with a mileage of 55 thousand km. The car in great technical condition. Yesterday, 27.02.17, I learned at the BMW service center that the timing gear is to be replaced. I should add that the car currently has driven 65 thousand km. I have blown and huffed on it, driven only in the city, that the average speed of 50 km / h. I have never lived it, because I know how expensive BMW parts are. Is it normal for the timing gear at this mileage to be replaced?

For some time now I’ve been hearing a slight metallic sort of clattering sound from around the tur bo (not necessarily the turbine) more on the driver’s side. At the ASO they have not diagnosed any fault however the sound bothers me a bit. The engine is an N47t, mileage around 50k, I was wondering about the timing but I don’t think so. Apparently, some timing components have already been corrected in this engine model.
BMW driver’s question
I imported a car in June 2012 from Belgium with 146,000 kilometers and from the beginning from the rear of the engine where the timing gear is located, a metallic, cyclic sound was heard from the outside – as if rubbing metal against metal. When the engine was cold, the sound was louder. With the engine warmed up – it was a little quieter. Inside the car nothing was audible. Dynamics ok, combustion at 4.9 l ON on the road.
