Drooping suspension on BMW - what is the cause and how to fix it?

I am referring to the sagging rear suspension. I have already replaced the airbags, one in October 2010, the other 3 months ago. For the past 2 weeks the car sits on its rear end overnight, during the day as we drive it is OK. The mechanic 2 days ago replaced the sensor at the right wheel, because it was showing an error on the computer and was actually standing a little crooked on the right side. Unfortunately, the car continues to sit on its butt overnight. All I have to do in the morning is snap the central locking and the car lifts off. It can't stay that way. My mechanic unfortunately broke his hands. I am very much asking for help.

The problem was with a BMW 530D touring model (E39), but it happens in other models as well.

On an E39 with air suspension, there is the problem of the suspension dropping after prolonged parking. A well-functioning suspension should not droop on its own during even a few days of standstill. The component that most often fails is the suspension cushions. However, the entire pneumatic leveling system contains many more components, including leveling sensors, pressure hoses and a compressor system with a compressed air reservoir.

For a correct diagnosis of system damage, the entire system should be thoroughly checked, along with a thorough computer diagnosis of its control.
