Pulley after significant mileage – can it be the cause of vibration in BMW?
Driver’s question about the pulley in the BMW
My BMW 3 with automatic transmission shakes at a standstill. You can feel it all the way to the door. When extinguishing the engine, there is also this stronger vibration. The alternator has been replaced, as well as the engine and transmission cushions, but the fault persists.
In addition, I checked the injectors – they are in working order and the pulley – it is whole, without cracks. Who could help me? Where to look for the problem?
The problem affected BMW 3 E90 with N47 engine, but it may also occur in other models.
BM Cars service response – a question of the condition of the pulley and automatic transmission
The cause of the vibration may be a pulley that has no cracks, but is after considerable mileage or poor quality. Its rubber rim is very soft and the wheel “flies” causing engine vibrations transmitted to the body.
It will also be necessary to check the condition of the hydrokinetics in the automatic transmission. This is a rare fault, but it does happen. There are similar symptoms and vibrations when accelerating.
