Jerking and stalling engine in BMW – what is the reason and how to fix it?
BMW driver question
Every once in a while (let’s assume once or twice per 100 km) the car jerks, as if the fuel supply is cut off. Within a second, at most two seconds, the car runs normally. It also happened that starting at the traffic lights I press the gas pedal and the car goes out, again as if there is no fuel. At the authorized BMW service center headed for several hours, checked the computer and did not determine any fault. This is how I have already driven more than 10,000 km (I use the car very little).
I am very much asking for advice.
The problem affected a 1991 BMW E36 325i model, but it also happens in other models.
Response from BM Cars service
The behavior of the car described by you can be caused by very different faults related to both the fuel and ignition systems. It will be all the more difficult to diagnose when the fault occurs infrequently and irregularly. In the E36 model from the early period of its production, diagnostic possibilities are also small (compared to later and contemporary models).
I suggest that you use the services of a service center during the period of occurrence of the fault and perform a full diagnostics of the vehicle (with particular emphasis on the fuel and ignition system).
We invite you to take advantage of our service.
