BMW driver’s question
I recently heard disturbing noises coming out when moving the steering wheel on my BMW E60. I’m having a hard time locating where the noises are coming from, resembling rubbing rubber parts. I have been searching the Internet for the cause of the symptoms occurring, but have not found a definite answer. I would like to add that the noises are not heard from the start of driving only after some time.
Has your service perhaps come into contact with such a case?
BMW driver question
Is it a problem that after changing the oil and driving about 7,000 km I had to add about 0.7 liters of oil? I change the oil every year doing 11,000 km. This year I should change in September, but I have already driven 13,000 km and had to add about 1.8 l. The car has driven 202,600 km in 3 years. The first replacement was with castrol 5w30. At the second change I poured the original Castrol Edge 0w30 oil.
BMW driver question
Please advise me on a strange unpleasant smell coming into the cabin from the engine side. Most often it happens when I brake. In addition, I noticed that on the engine there are leaks from under the gaskets. It is leaking from the oil pan gasket and valve cover. Could this smell be related to these leaks? Or is there some excessive pressure in the engine and it pushes the gaskets out and gives this strange smell? Or is it the vacuum pump?
BMW driver question
Every once in a while (let’s assume once or twice per 100 km) the car jerks, as if the fuel supply is cut off. Within a second, at most two seconds, the car runs normally. It also happened that starting at the traffic lights I press the gas pedal and the car goes out, again as if there is no fuel. At the authorized BMW service center headed for several hours, checked the computer and did not determine any fault. This is how I have already driven more than 10,000 km (I use the car very little).
I am very much asking for advice.
BMW driver question
I have a problem with my car. When braking, the steering wheel shakes, pulls to the left and wags the car. I have checked everything possible and still the same thing. I replaced the discs with ATE, pads, put on other wheels, replaced the bearings with hubs, checked the shaft support and flexible links, the suspension checked at three diagnostic stations. Please help, because the services spread their hands.
BMW driver question
I have a 2005 car, mileage 86000 km and I noticed that my oil is disappearing. I am using castrol 5w30. What could be the reason for the consumption of about 1 liter per 1000 km? This is probably not in the norm?
The problem affected a BMW E90 320i, but it happens in other models as well.
BMW driver question
For some time now I’ve been hearing a slight metallic sort of clattering sound from around the tur bo (not necessarily the turbine) more on the driver’s side. At the ASO they have not diagnosed any fault however the sound bothers me a bit. The engine is an N47t, mileage around 50k, I was wondering about the timing but I don’t think so. Apparently, some timing components have already been corrected in this engine model.
BMW driver question
I am constantly tormented by a problem with the automatic transmission, namely the transmission makes noise at slow speed – on P and N and when putting D into gear, you have to wait about 3 seconds. When the transmission warms up well the car from D starts with a little slip and jerk. How to fix it?
BMW driver question
I recently purchased a 2011 BMW F10 520 diesel 2011 mileage of 125k and I am concerned about one problem. Well, when firing up the engine, you can see a terrible vibration left and right on the gear stick (manual transmission). Later on, the stick keeps vibrating while the engine is running. In addition, after opening the hood, I noticed a strong vibration of the entire engine when the engine is warm or cold. Could it be some kind of pads, injectors or timing? Alternatively, what could be the cause of this and what to pay attention to?
BMW driver’s question
I imported a car in June 2012 from Belgium with 146,000 kilometers and from the beginning from the rear of the engine where the timing gear is located, a metallic, cyclic sound was heard from the outside – as if rubbing metal against metal. When the engine was cold, the sound was louder. With the engine warmed up – it was a little quieter. Inside the car nothing was audible. Dynamics ok, combustion at 4.9 l ON on the road.
