Jerking on a cold engine in a BMW – what could be the causes?

BMW driver question

I have been having a problem with my BMW for some time. On a cold engine, when adding gas violently, it jerks the whole car. When the temperature pointer rises a little, the problem stops. When I drive calmly, the problem does not occur.

I would like to add that I had plug errors on each cylinder. They were all burnt, so I replaced them along with the controller. Now the errors are not there and I even checked these plugs again. According to me they are working properly. EGR also checked. What could be causing the car to jerk on cold engine?

The problem was with the BMW 535d F11, but it can also happen in other models.

Response from BM Cars service

The described problem is very complex and can be caused by many faults. On the engine side, a common cause of jerking on a cold engine is the malfunction of the EGR valve or vortex flaps in the intake manifold. On the drivetrain side, it can be a signal of a malfunctioning transmission (automatic) or transfer case (VTG).

Making an accurate diagnosis is always related to carrying out a comprehensive diagnostics of the vehicle. Without having the exact details of the vehicle, it is difficult for us to pinpoint the causes of the problems.
