Does the BMW air conditioning panel have to be coded for a specific model?
BMW driver question
Some time ago I replaced the air conditioning control panel in my BMW. The question is, does it need to be programmed under the specific VIN of the car? My solenoid valves are not working – that is, it seems to me that the control does not connect to them.
The question was for a 2004 BMW 5 E60 with a 4.0 V8 engine, but the problem may also occur in other models.
BM Cars service response
Replacement of the air conditioning panel should be completed with the coding of this component. Only a panel correctly assigned to the vehicle ensures proper operation of the so-called climatronic system. The version of the panel is also important – it must correspond exactly to the version with which the vehicle was factory equipped.
