Additional anti-theft features on BMW cars
BMW driver question
I have a BMW with a factory alarm. What additional security can I put on to be sure no one will steal my car?
The question applies to all BMW models.

BMW 5 E60 – the factory steering column lock started to be installed from this model
Response from BM Cars service
BMW cars began installing factory anti-theft systems after 1996. In addition to the traditional alarm that protects the interior, hood, trunk and tilt of the vehicle, an immobilizer that recognizes the authorized ignition key was used. This system of additional vehicle security with subsequent technical modifications is still in use today.
In new models from the E60 series, E90 and all models of the F line, an additional mechanical steering column lock is used. The use of the wrong key (form of remote control) results not only in the inability to ignite the engine, but also in the inability to unlock the steering wheel. Despite these factory safety features, users want additional security features.
It should be noted that no security device has been constructed that cannot be forced. Everything depends on the time available to the intruder and the technical means at his disposal.
As part of our service, we offer the installation of the following additional systems:
- Alarm (for models that do not have it from the factory).
- An additional immobilizer.
- Satellite monitoring.
You are welcome to schedule an appointment.
