What is air conditioning service in BMW?
Air conditioning service ensures that the correct amount of coolant and cleanliness of the airflow system to the vehicle interior is maintained. Each air conditioning system has a manufacturer-specified amount of gas necessary for proper operation.
During the operation of the vehicle, small amounts of coolant escape under the influence of vibration and high pressure in the A/C system. With a leaky system, a loss of 10% of the total capacity in one year is considered normal.
In addition, the oil in the A/C compressor ages and, like engine oil, is subject to periodic replacement. At least every two years. In addition, mold and microbes develop in the air ducts under the influence of moisture and temperature, the decomposition of which can cause unpleasant odors that appear when the air blower is turned on. Periodic cleaning of these ducts and replacement of air conditioning microfilters prevents this phenomenon.
What period should I replace the air conditioning filters/fluids in my BMW?
According to the manufacturer’s recommendations, you should replace and refill the coolant along with the A/C compressor oil at least once a year, preferably before the start of the summer season.
Replacement of air microfilters depends on how the vehicle is used, but not less than once a year, preferably before the start of the summer season.
At what time will the air conditioning service at BM Cars be performed?
A full air conditioning service including decontamination of the air system takes about an hour. Its duration depends on the capacity of the air conditioning system and its efficiency.
Does BM Cars provide a warranty for the A/C service and what does it cover?
We provide a 12-month warranty on all work performed. The warranty does not cover unsealing of the A/C system.
What elements make up the cost of air conditioning service in BMW?
The cost of air conditioning service includes:
- checking the system for leaks,
- measurement of the amount of refrigerant remaining in the system,
- topping up the amount of refrigerant to the amount specified by the manufacturer,
- disinfection of the air system,
- replacement of air microfilters,
