Flickering, glowing or not glowing LED rings in BMW lamps – how to fix?

BMW driver question

I have a question about led lamps. It is about the daytime running lamps so-called rings – one of the lamps (right) has a different shade of burning ring, the other glows normally. My question is, are there any inverters or bulbs that are responsible for these rings?

I would drive to the service center, but I would like to know first if it can be repaired or if the whole lamp has to be replaced?

Best regards and waiting for an answer.

The problem was on a 2013 BMW 3 F31, but it can happen on other models as well.

Response from BM Cars website

The F31 uses LED lighting to illuminate the rings, which theoretically should not burn out or wear out over a long period of time. Usually, however, when exposed to moisture, the controller that operates the LED backlight is damaged. The result is a blinking, non-luminous ring or poor LED illumination/glowing.

The driver is a replaceable component and it is then not necessary to replace the entire lamp. However, if it happened, the lamp itself was unsealed and the LED ring was damaged, replacing the driver will not help. In order to make an accurate diagnosis, it is necessary to diagnose at the service and check the lamps.
