Difficulty starting in BMW already at -5℃ – how to fix it?
BMW driver question
In my BMW I have a problem with starting the engine already at -5℃. If it catches, for a while the engine runs unevenly, as if not on all cylinders. Póżniej wszystko jest OK. I buy fuel at reputable stations, such as BP. What could be the cause of the malfunction?
The problem affected a 2005 BMW 525d E60 with a mileage of 130,000 km, but it may also occur in other models.
Response from BM Cars service
The described problem may be related to damage or malfunction of glow plugs or the glow plug controller. Similar symptoms are also given by damage to the crankshaft position sensor.
To make a correct diagnosis, it is necessary to connect the car to a diagnostic computer and check the operation of glow plugs and their driver, as well as other errors in the diagnostic system.
