What does brake system repair in BMW consist of?

Brake systems in BMW cars include wear and tear friction components (brake pads, sensors, brake discs), brake lines, the master cylinder along with the power steering system. Most often, wear and tear components – brake pads and discs – are repaired. Brake fluid is also replaced periodically (every 2 years). In older vehicles, the rigid brake lines and servo from the power steering system are subject to corrosion

When should you replace brake pads or other brake components on a BMW?

Excessive wear of brake pads is indicated in BMW cars by lighting a red light on the center clock (circle with an exclamation mark). On models equipped with a monitor or BC with the Service Info position, a yellow light appears in the vehicle drawing with an indication of worn pads front or rear.

The need to replace the brake fluid is indicated on newer models after 2004 in the form of an icon, on older models as a call for an annual inspection (clock symbol above the oil change cubes).

Rigid and flexible brake lines are subject to periodic inspection, among other things, during registration and seasonal inspections performed at our service center. If traces of corrosion or cracking (on flexible hoses) are found, they are immediately subject to replacement.
